BOHO IS BACK

Boho is back, but this time it's grown up.

Summer's favourite fashion feeling never really goes out of style, but it's seriously back this year having been on the catwalks at Chloe, Ralph Lauren and Isabel Marant (although no surprise there). The easy silhouettes and pretty embroidery of boho are perfect for summer, when warmer temperatures call for cool fabrics and looser-fitting clothes. The challenge is how to incorporate this free-spirited mood into our wardrobes without looking like we're trying to be Sienna Milller circa 2001.

YOUR STARTING POINT

The easiest place to start when it comes to injecting a touch of grown-up boho into your life is with a blouse. Choose one with a loose shape and go for for a ruffled or v-neckline (collars and structured sleeves aren't boho). Tassels and/or embroidery add to the boho feel and will also easily fit into your existing wardrobe. Pair them with jeans, shorts, a plain tiered skirt and you're good to go. Our Emma, Anna, Uma and Lola blouses are perfect examples of boho blouses that work hard and can be worn with lots of different bottoms.

ACCESSORIZE, ACCESSORIZE, ACCESSORIZE...

The boho look is all about accessories. Take a slim scarf and use it as a belt (as we've done here with our Willow jeans - a flare is very boho and set to be huge this autumn) or wrap it around you neck with the long ends loose. Alternatively, layer your necklaces to instantly add a boho edge to your outfit. A simple tee and a satin skirt can take on a boho edge with greek sandals and an arm full of bangles. Just keep things a little undone as if you've just thrown on everything without thinking.

A GREAT ONE-PIECE

The boho look is all about feeling carefree. Rooted in 60s and 70s hippie culture with style icons such as Talitha Getty and Stevie Nicks as poster girls, boho is about standing out from the crowd in a subtle way (whereas disco is all glittery look at me!). Our Phoebe jumpsuit can instantly feel boho when accessorised as above with stacks of bangles and greek sandals. Or throw on a floaty dress such as Grace (which looks boho when worn unbelted) or Alizze, both of which are currently on sale.
