WHAT TO WEAR IN OCTOBER

October is the start of 'Autumn proper' when temperatures drop, layers are required and going out feels a little more dressy than it did in the summer. If you were to break things down into what your wardrobe needs this month, we would advise...

Great knitwear (that feels as good as it looks).
Layering pieces that work well under knits and on their own.
A well cut trouser to take you everywhere
'Something' dressy that works from now into party season
We know knitwear at Wardrobe 44. It's probably the category that we know and love the best. October requires a knit that will keep you warm, but isn't so heavy that you're sweating profusely whilst wearing it. Not only are our Orla jumpers compliment magnets (seriously. I had 3 people ask me about my jumper when I nipped out this morning), but they are also a beautiful weight that's warm, but not too heavy. We also recommend the lightweight and silky soft Marnie and our Annabelle cardis for layering.

LAYERING PIECES

October is the month when it can be warm as a (mild) summer or incredibly cold, so layering tops that look as good on their own as they do layered are key. The art of layering is to show a little of what lies beneath, so a ruffle collar here or a hint of shirt tail or cuff there. Our new Emma mesh top is the perfect layering piece, worn here under our Marnie knit. The Evie broderie blouse and Christy shirt are also great layering tops.

A WELL CUT TROUSER

Essential for any wardrobe, whether you are wearing it for work, with trainers for day-to-day or for going out. Six months in the making, our new Ada tailored trouser fits perfectly and cleverly suits work and play depending on how you style her.

'Something' dressy

This is where the fun starts. Going out feels a little more dressy in the Autumn/Winter than it does in the summer. Whether that's a statement top with jeans or a satin skirt, going out after dark is when you can up the glam factor. Our new Leni tops in black and navy are TO DIE FOR. As comfortable as a classic knit but with beautiful chiffon sleeves, they are a must for October. While our new bow cardi can be worn three ways - with a black or off white bow, or bow-less. Another must.
